I am an artist specialising in clay, currently living in Bristol, UK.

Throughout my work I am interested in how time and emotion can be symbolised by objects. I enjoy the feeling that life can often seem surreal, and employ a playful approach in exploring its material possibilities.

My experience as an archaeologist and love of movement can be seen in pre-occupations with survival, traces, narrative and ambiguity of meaning. I have dug many holes, seen forgotten landscapes appear out of mud... and been influenced by time spent, amongst others, in Africa and Papua New Guinea.

Ideas, experimentation and observation form the backbone of my practice; my environment dictates my areas of research. This could be as eclectic as re-designing a clothes dryer, making plants more appealing to kids,  noticing parallels between objects and old fruit skins, designing cycling mittens and bath insulation, or analysing pre-occupations with 'a view'... and of course why we are as we are.

Alongside my own investigations I enjoy working with other people and encourage greater participation in the visual and tactile arts. I have experience in running art workshops and community events and am always keen to think laterally with any challenge. Techniques used include ceramics, drawing, collage and recycled materials.
